WHAT IS THE PADRON?

It’s the administrative record of all residents of the town. Each It's person that lives in Spain is obliged to sign on to the padron in the town where they habitually live.
It is complying with a legal obligation and allows you to exercise and demand your rights. The larger the numbers on the padron, the greater the economic help the Town Hall receives to better provide local services.
With a lower number of people on the padron, there is a risk to the provision and quality of such services.

RENEW YOUR ENTRY

As a foreigner and inhabitant of Calp you need to know that you must renew your entry periodically, normally every 2 to 5 years depending on your residential status. You just need to bring your passport and NIE to renew.

FOR SIGN ON THE PADRON OR TO CHANGE YOUR ADDRESS

Bring the following documentation:

• Residence Card or Passport and NIE (if you have it)
• Deed of the home, or last IBI invoice, or current rental contract with the last paid receipt. Or authorization from the owner of the property (in this case, the authorization plus the aforementioned documentation)

You can do all this at the OAC Citizen Service office at Calp City Hall,

• Right to vote (for foreigners from the European Economic Community in municipal elections and in the European Parliament)
• Access to Social Security (medical)
• Access to public educational centers (schools, institutes, etc.)
• Access to aid and subsidies for municipal services
• Access to Social Services
• Access to the home help service for the seniors:
  • “Major a casa”
  • “Menjar a casa” (food and laundry)
• Access to the Dependency Law
• Senior Card: Discounts for seniors in shops and businesses in Calp and other services, access to activities in the civic center (courses, trips, gymnastics, etc.) and 30% discount on the city bus
